Quantum Dots and it method of preparations - revisited

s Quantum dots are inorganic nanocrystal semiconductors that behave exceptionally well as fluorophores and find ample applications in electronics, chemical and bio-medical researches and mass production. From the last two decades lot of efforts have been employed to invent a newer method for its preparation that will be beneficial over the conventional one. In this review articles emphasis has been given on the meticulous discussion of traditional methods as well as current development in preparation of modern quantum dots. Synthetic processes based on ultrasonic or microwave irradiation, using microorganism bio-template, cluster-seed method and different green non-toxic techniques are highlighted.
